Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Waha Capital will launch a new private investments strategy that will enable the company to acquire stakes in businesses across the MENA region.
The strategy comprises core and global opportunities portfolios, with the first focusing on taking controlling or significant minority stakes in MENA businesses, according to a press release on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the global opportunities portfolio will target high-return investments and partnerships with institutional investors across different sectors.
Hence, the company, which counts Mubadala Investment Company among its main shareholders, has appointed Hashem Dabbas as Chief Investment Officer of the private investments business.
The CEO of Waha Capital, Ahmed Khalifa Al Mehairi, said: "The team behind our Private Investments business now hails from some of the most pre-eminent investors globally, and I am confident this new team will successfully drive this strategic vision forward and establish strong networks to build a robust deal pipeline."
Meanwhile, the Chief Investment Officer for Private Investments, Hashem Dabbas, commented: "This new Private Investments strategy and setup will enable our team to pursue a more global and multi-asset investment approach, aimed at enhancing the value we bring to our investors and continuing to fuel the growth of the wider Waha Capital business."
